Saturday there was a regional meeting at Soka University. Amy came with me, even though she's anti-religion in any form. So we sitting there listening to speakers and watching the various shows and I'm getting more and more uncomfortable, thinking about what Amy must be thinking. I have to say it was the weirdest event I've ever attended. It seemed very cultish and odd. At one point toward the end, they are announcing refreshments will be served outside. I ask Amy what she thinks of it all, she says, "Well, it seems a little cult-like." Since I'd been thinking the same thing, I wasn't surprised, just turned toward her, very seriously, and said, "Just don't drink the punch."
LOL!!!!! ...yeah, well, guess you had to be there.
Today I am suppose to set up a computer that I reconditioned for a student from my mom's school. She worked really hard to graduate high school and she just got a studio apartment for her and her baby. My mom wants her to learn how to use a computer so she will have more job skills. The gal wants to stay off welfare and make her own way, so hopefully the computer will help her out.
After doing that, I REALLY want to go body-boarding but my Daimoku toso meeting is tonight. Hopefully I can fit it in.
Was this a rest day?
